New sem starts

First of all, the start of this sem marks the end of my industrial training. Well, sorry that i could not finish off all the blogging of my 12 weeks training at sibu. basically, I just get lazy to catch up of what was left off when i got back to KL. Too many things to settle here and there and i just don have the time and feeling to go update it. Well seems like my grade of the industrial training is already issued. All well ends well. By the way, i received the result from Muet too. Band 5. I more band to 6. Oh well.

Many things ended, and started too. World cup ended. Spain wins. Good. Since they are the team that i believe and predicted to win this world cup even before the world cup itself starts. Finally get back to usual time schedule. This sem timetable is good enough. One week with 5 days off. 2 days pack with classes. Still not too bad though.

but this sem also seems like too many things to do. 2nd week of the semester, plenty stuffs comes in, and time to get busy also. Just hope that i got myself a good FYP topic. Reports here and there. Stress comes in. only one year left in this Uni life. I seriously hope to enjoy it over this last year, as basically i totally did not enjoy myself in the first 2 years. But seems like it is a little too late.

A fine uni life to start with actually, one big regret that i left within this uni and i believe it will continue to haunt me. But lets just forget about it. Recently started back on J-drama. and guess what, now i know why i loves Jdrama or Anime so much. Simply because they are much more meaningful than some other countries drama. Averagely, they are all good, meaningful, entertaining. Just one downside though, my harddisk is running out of spaces. T_T It really hurts to be a collector. Huhuhuhu.

Oh well life goes on. See ya folks out there. Take care. And basically i think no one visited this site though. Hahaha. Just type to waste my time for now.

8th week

Well they say bad thing always comes before good stuffs. why say so? There's a visit by Qa/Qc engineers this week. So making sure the site looks tidy is our work. Have to run here and there to ask the sub con to do house keeping.

Good things comes in double, so do bad things. Thursday 26th May will be PBLT site visit and PDRM too. Site progress meeting. I smell trouble and time to quarrel among all again. Well not much related to me though.

So other than my usual task, this week, let's see, setting slope for roadway and carparks, do some checking at surau drainage and manhole cause they have crash into each others, mainly focusing on the layout of the center area structures. Concreting for the lokap mass concrete bed starts. Checking barricade on danger zone around site.

One more issue, somehow, the drainage in front kelas E and D seems odd. After checking, we found that the road had shrink from 7m to 6m. At first we thought the surveyor peg wrong points for the drainage. After producing a superimpose off all drawings, we found that, the old drawing and the new drawing, the zone around kelas D E shifted by a distance. No one seems to notice of it, cause within the revise drawing, there is no revision note regarding this issue. Drainage works immediately halts, and find ways to solve this issue.

Oh! Pile driving records. Still give me shivers now. 506 pages of pile driving record. Had to compile it properly and submit it for claim and to Sibu waterboard. Been writing a lot since i came here. Few weeks ago still doing part time for compiling bakau piling record.

Ok so what is the good stuff. HolidaySS!! Wesak on 28th May. Had to go back Kuching cause my brother's wedding is on 29th May. 30th is Sunday. Applied a day leave on 31st May. 1st and 2nd June is Gawai. WOooooHooooo!!! Well Thats is also why i am able to update this blog with the slow internet of my house. Better than nothing ekkk? Still have many tasks waiting for us to complete when head back on 2nd June, since my superior is on leave. That will be on next posts.

7th Week

Well, same routine for the whole week too. So just will write some new things

Few meeting going on this week. First is the sub contractor meeting with the construction manager. Mostly discuss on how to fasten up the pace of the projects. Just in case i havent said it before, the main problem for such a delay is the machinery and also manpower. both are insufficient. Oh, by the way, the new extension of time is issued. the project completion date is 15th september 2009. yes 2009. hahaha. well the latest now is 23rd July 2010. After this date, LAD will be charge accordingly, RM 15k daily. hahaha SWT!

Other things this week, material arrive on site, expanded wire mesh, Ruang black maria I beam. Lysaght issue their cutlist for the roofing sheets. Gosh, cross checking with the area i counted myself, most of the length are wrong. Well had to follow up with lysaght people all along the week. after few days, finally they gave a correct one.Well maybe due to the one manage the design is a new guy.

Other thing such as checking the ceiling clearance, leveling and marking for manhole are done this week, excavation of anjung masuk spun pile. Oh finally, right wing has completed its concreting. Now to move onto center area. and gosh, headache by looking at the complicated structures.

The second final step of rectification of the detached beam also done on wednesday. so all in all, 5 weeks left. well should i say 4 weeks. Hahaha.

6th week

Hmm.. Been looking through friends blog, thinking the same thing as Lip Siong said on his. I come to train on site, well of course there are things that you can learn on site alone only, but on the same way, I also missed up the chance to mess with design and stuffs. Well cant help it right, do my job right and hope it will get better and better. Anyway, I also dislike being confined in a four wall closets for 10 hours a day. Engineer, don't look too high up on them, sometime even a experienced workers or supervisor knows more than them. Well it also depends, advice is, learn and change and solve, being a living body with dead mind cant get you anyway further.

Alright, cut the talking. Still the same old routine, as pointed out in the previous post. Check here and there, mess here and there. Anything new? Yea, Mr Chiew arrived, our new Construction Manager. Brief him about the current condition of the Balai.

Worklist? Check archi, concreting works, leveling, helping my supervisor with some task, checking and counting needed quantities off drawing, get consultation from RE and CoW, discussion with Sub Con about the work, Materials, trusses. Oh! Get a new task from my superior though. From now, the volleyball game court will be under my supervision. Nothing much for now, just bakau piling. 1000++ points. hahaha. O_O

Receive the revised drawing of structural drawings of balai center area, the most complicated area within balai. What i saw is only headache, follow by more headache.

Oh the rectification works also starts, for the previous detached beam. Now to permanently fixed it. Let's go through along with the photos shall we?

 Done RC gutter

Still have time, lets do marking for the game court.

More work coming along
Putting 2 Steel I beam at designated places
Fine tune it with hydraulic jack
Good job Kato
Now what left is concrete the I beam and hack the detached parts to retie the rebar, and regrout it.
Intel inside? No. It's I beam inside.
Mmmmm
Look From Below
Long time haven't visit lokap huh. The hole left is for hacking, due to the change of the drawings. Original brickwall had to be hack. \(++)/
External brickwall, the hole is for the RC fin and ledge, another architectural trick -__-
Lintels up. Time to finish it.

That's all for this week. Till then, Ciaoz
